Tactical Paintball - What is Tactical Paintball?
By Chris Eisther
Tactical paintball is known also as “traditional paintball”. This was the first game-type that was played, and still is the most popular type of paintball nowadays. It doesn’t need so good skills, high-end equipment and physical shape as its younger “brother” speedball.
Tactical paintball mostly is played outdoors and in woodland areas. Since it is the most popular type of paintball then players during years have made up their own playing styles and elements. If during speedball games most popular is the classic team elimination game type, then for tactical paintball there are many and interesting game scenarios. Most popular game scenarios are:
- team elimination
- every man for himself
- capture the flag
- hostage rescue
- attack/defence
- bomb plant
- precious cargo escort
There are many interesting elements made to make tactical paintball games more interesting - including briefcases (for bomb and precious cargo scenarios), flags and even cars. Using cars during games is very interesting as it demands bigger team play, adds a nice twist to the game and is more thrilling.
Tactical paintball is mostly played outside in woodland so it could be more realistic, also urban areas are made to play it. There are fields that contain - small villages, junk yards, deserted cities and much more. All this just adds nice twists to the tactical paintball and is truly breathe taking experience. More extreme players also like to play paintball during winters, in this case special ammo (paintballs) are needed, and outfit that will keep you warm and will blend in the snow.
