By Korbin Newlyn

Spyder PaintballWhen paintball comes to mind, you typically think of bridges, woods, trees, rain, mud; typically everything that you get in an outdoor environment. Right?

The initial thing that comes to most peoples mind is not the inside area of a big building in the city or town. However, you will find that there are a lot of paintball locations that are situated right in the center of just these types of locations. – and you will also notice that they are highly popular, particularly in terms of stag and hen weekends.

Why Select An Urban Location For Paintball?

This begs the question; Why not? Once you get past the point that you are not outside in the open air, taking part in indoor paintball can actually be really fun. One of the great benefits of these types of settings is the owners and organizers have the capability to create darkened rooms and many unique rooms to explore – this is one aspect that you will not find outdoors.

By locating indoor paintball centers right within the center of cities and town also makes them a lot more attractive to businesses, which mostly are big customers – paintball is an excellent selection as a team bonding day for employees.

Some of The Benefits of Indoor Paintball

One of the distinguishable benefits of indoor paintball is if you want to avoid sliding around in the mud when it’s pouring buckets of rain. Lets not forget about the mosquitoes in the summer and the freezing cold temperatures in the winter for outdoor paintball. Aside from that there is the chance to feel the experience of a higher intensity surroundings. Many indoor fields have strobe lights strategically placed as well as smoke machines which are frequently used to create both distractions and cover for both you and your team mates – also for the enemy.

The essence of the environment also makes paintball highly unique from the more conventional outdoor types. Uniquely created corridors, bunkers, tunnels, cells, secret rooms all create a highly intense gaming environment. It is a much different experience compared to being outdoors and being able to look far into the distance in all directions. When you are cornered against some wall, in a tight room and you have to move into a corridor, you will really be able to get a strong feel for the tension boiling over.

There are numerous indoor paintball arenas that are open late as well, providing you and your colleagues the opportunity to blow off some of that stream you built up after work. This is no doubt one of the main reasons for the growth of indoor paintball destinations that are now available throughout the country.

It is a subject of contention as to whether or not indoor paintball will ever totally replace the outdoor game, and for the complete experience it would be advisable to have a try at both venues, yet if you enjoy your paintball played in a tight high paced environment, then remaining indoors may be the right option for you.

More info: A paintball marker, also known as a paintball gun, is the main piece of equipment in the sport of paintball. Markers use an expanding gas, such as carbon dioxide or compressed air, to propel paintballs through the barrel. Some paintball players refer to the piece of equipment as a “marker” rather than “gun”, . The term derives from its original use as a means for forestry personnel and ranchers to mark trees and wandering cattle.
